YPA NOTICE BOARD

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO AFFILIATED SOCIETIES

To reduce escalating postage costs the YPA has decided to send via email communications to affiliated societies previously sent by post. Communications will normally be with the Secretary and/or the Society's YPA Representative for cascading down to those members in the Society who need to know.
Copies of the YPA News will similarly be sent via email for copying and distribution to members.
Affiliated societies who have not made arrangements with the YPA Secretary to receive future communications via email should contact him to do so. Societies and individuals unable to receive communications via email will continue to receive them through the post.
The YPA apologies for any inconvenience this causes but hopes societies will appreciate that this is necessary to reduce the YPA deficit on operating costs and ensure its continuing financial viability.

NOTICE OF NEXT YPA MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

YPA Officers and Society Representatives please note that the next Management Committee Meeting will be held on Saturday 28 April 2012 at St Mary's in the Wood United Reformed Church Hall, Commercial Street, Morley, Leeds LS27 8HZ (opposite the Library), commencing 11am.
Entries for the YPA Annual Competition for 2012 should be handed in at this meeting.

About the Yorkshire Philatelic Association

The Yorkshire Philatelic Association (YPA) was founded in 1947 in Leeds. Initially there were ten societies, but the Association has grown over the years to its present twenty-one affiliated member societies.
The YPA aims to provide a variety of benefits for all philatelists in the area, create links between societies and form an effective bridge between philately at local and national levels.
Affiliated societies are represented by their nominated delegates. Together with the elected officers of the Association they form the Management Committee which meets twice a year to organise and run the YPA and provide a forum for discussion on matters of common interest to all philatelists in the YPA area.

The Annual Convention

The YPA Annual Convention is usually hosted by one of the affiliated societies, or the YPA if no society is able to host the event. The Convention includes, the YPA Competition entries, dealers, the YPA Annual General Meeting, a ceremony for newly elected Yorkshire Distinguished Philatelists to sign the Roll, and may include an exhibition.
